I have decided on an idea and actually quite like this.
I've been looking at traditional Japanese Kokeshi dolls which are basically what these new
Momiji dolls are based on.
You can get momiji graphics on just about anything these days including t-shirts and stationary. Hell, I've even seen a Hello Kitty momiji keyring.
So for this project I originally thought about making a room full of Kokeshi ranging from traditional to modern and contemporary.
After a talk with Cassie the title of my project is something along the lines of 'How can I redesign traditional dolls for a contemporary market?'
So I'll look at dolls like soapstone dolls i think they're called, traditional Inuit dolls, Babushka (Russian Dolls) etc.
So, we'll see how it goes <3
